October 1, 2024 – January 3, 2025
I’m thrilled to share that my book Collection Box Series: Miami-Dade County Vol. 1 is included in the exhibition What They Saw: Historical Photobooks by Women Reading Room, presented by WHOPA (Women Photographers International Archive). The exhibition is on view at the Miami-Dade Public Library Main Branch from October 1, 2024 to January 3, 2025, with a special public event on October 26 at 10:00am.
Organized as a reading room, What They Saw invites the public to engage with photobooks created by women artists, past and present. The exhibition centers on the power of the photobook as both an artistic medium and a vehicle for storytelling, self-representation, and historical record.
My featured book, Collection Box Series: Miami-Dade County Vol. 1, is a visual study of USPS collection boxes across the county—a quiet archive of civic infrastructure, repetition, and place. The book is 165 pages, containing 76 images, and is perfect bound. It documents a specific kind of visual rhythm found throughout public spaces, and reflects on the often-overlooked objects that shape our shared environments.
