My Auxiliary Ego
My Auxiliary Ego is a solo project by singer/songwriter Maria Theresa Barbist. Born in Austria and based in Miami, FL, she is a visual artist, psychologist and musician. Growing up in the Tyrol she played polkas, valses and tangos on the accordion for her mother’s bed and breakfast guests and was later part of an accordion orchestra.
The self-titled debut EP was recorded during the global pandemic in collaboration with producer Rodrigo Gamboa, who also plays guitar on the record, with Mariano Escalona on drums and Josu Ortiz on piano on Childhood Shrine.
