Übergänge

Übergänge is a video work developed in dialogue with a series of large-scale paintings. Painted gesture is translated into embodied movement, shifting marks from the surface of the canvas into time, space, and the body. The work traces states of transition—physical, emotional, and conceptual—where movement becomes a form of thinking and painting becomes a score for action.

Structured as five stages—Sprung, Kampf, Weg, Alles bleibt anders, and Konstellation—the video unfolds as a sequence of passages rather than a linear narrative. Each stage marks a different mode of transformation: leap, struggle, path, contradiction, and relational alignment. Together, they articulate moments of rupture and continuity, resistance and flow, emphasizing transition as an ongoing condition rather than a resolved state.

Übergänge situates painting and performance as interdependent practices, asking how gesture migrates, how meaning shifts across mediums, and how change is both enacted and sustained.
